ABOUT CHRYSTIA
Chrystia Freeland is Canada’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and the Member of Parliament for University-Rosedale.
From 2015 to 2017, Minister Freeland served as Canada's Minister of International Trade, overseeing the successful negotiation of Canada's free trade agreement with the European Union, CETA. From 2017 to 2019, she served as Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. She served as Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs from 2019 to 2020.
Ms. Freeland was first elected as a Member of Parliament in July 2013.
An esteemed journalist and author, Ms. Freeland was born in Peace River, Alberta. She was educated at Harvard University before continuing her studies on a Rhodes Scholarship at the University of Oxford.

YOUTH COUNCIL
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said that “young voices must be part of our decision-making process.” That’s why I launched the initiative to bring youth together from across our riding to engage with the federal politics. Our Council is made up of youth between the ages of 12 to 18.
